Objectives: The return of their Highness - H.E. Selassie's will mark 50 years of Caribbean history placing the Hospitallers at the forefront for the 21st Century.
We commemorate the enormous work of the Hospitallers of centuries past in the Caribbean and our Lazarite brothers assisting in Hospitaller works and our commendable efforts to global Hospitaller initiatives for the 21st century worldwide.
Commemorating Monastic Medicine beginning in 1503 at the St. Nicolas Hospital of Hispanola and continuing with SMOKH on the isles of Nevis, Curacao, Puerto Rico, and Jamaica for the 21st Century (see the book HOSPITALLERS OF THE AMERICAS).
REGISTER FOR THE SATURDAY NEPAC LECTURE
HE Selassie remains one of the most respected African diplomats of all times. He was an Ethiopian Christian (of the East), and a gentleman of great reverence.
He paid due respect and homage to the Rastafarian movement by a diplomatic visit to Jamaica in 1966, and left an Ethiopian priest emissary who remained for the rest of his mortal life, fostering Ethiopian Christianity on the caribbean island.
The Hospitallers of the Americas will once again be firmly re-established in the Caribbean as Lazarite/SMOKH initiatives for the 21st century from 400+ years earlier.
A trumpet will be blown in the hearts and minds. Since the earliest Caribbean colonizations of the Orders of St. John, Christ (Templar) and Santiago, the Hospitallers return with the original Monastic Medicine in modern format, a call to safeguard the leaves and fruits as the medicines for the people with visions to survive the coming complexities of life. Of other concerns is sustainability and using solar resources for energy and edible plant/fish production (aquaponics). Water quality in terms of health is also a firm committment. The Sacred Medical Order of the Knights of Hope and St. Lazarus, will guarantee a minimum donation for Grand Prior Prince Ermias' Water Initiative for Africa.
The Hospitallers advance not only good health practices but also become a tourism product for the Caribbean.
